Laad bazaar ki choodiyon ki khanak ya;-Srishti (SP)
Mootiyon ki mala ki chamak;
Kya aayi aapko biryani ki mehak?
Toh chalo mere sang ghume Hyderabad ki sadak…
A couple of months back I moved to Hyderabad also known as Cyberabad these days.
A city that is famous for Pearls, Biryani ,IT industry and the Koh-i-noor.
There’s a farrago of fact and myth about the Kohinoor diamond. The Kohinoor was found in the river-bed of the Krishna at Kolluru, Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh in the 13th century.
I had visited this city when I was just 2 years old.
Since the move I have been super excited to explore this beautiful city of pearls.
So on a Saturday my husband and I decided, to travel in the Hyderabad metro for the first time.
We took a metro from Miyapur station to MG bus station.
From the MG bus station we took an uber to Charminar.
Metro ticket charges:- Rs.50 per person
Charminar- The archeological and Architectural treasure, built in 1591 is also called as Arc de Triomphe of the east.
I was mesmerised by the majestic monument standing amidst the crowd. I felt tranquil inspite of being surrounded by tourists, street vendors & food stalls.
Entry fees and timings :-
Charminar entry fee is Rs.5 per person for Indian visitors and Rs. 100 for foreign tourists.
The timing to enter the building is from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm. I didn’t enter the monument as there was a long queue.
We then headed to the famous Laad Bazaar also known as Choodi Bazaar.
Laad means the lacquer used to make the bangles. This Bazaar is located near the Charminar .
There were so many lanes of beautiful bangle shops. All I could see was a riot of colours.
Timings:-This Bazaar is open from 11 am to 11 pm.
Visit to Charminar is not complete without buying some pearls. There are countless pearl shops but you need to be careful, because not all shops sell real pearls.
Worried about how to distinguish between fake and real pearls ? Don’t you worry, because I have got you covered.
Here are some tips to keep in mind before buying pearls.
I got a string of pearls for Rs.600 and a pair of pearl earrings for Rs.100
